Captain Bob Constructions originated from the idea that builders should be a reliable service.

Selecting the right builder can be a tricky and expensive investment.

After all, we have spent so much time thinking about the idea of a future home or renovation, saved up a large pool of money, gone to the bank with the potential of refinancing or applying for a new loan, and encountered countless hurdles along the way…what could go wrong?

I can't justify the price of hiring a builder when I can manage the renovation or knockdown & rebuild myself. (i.e. apply to be an owner builder).

Yes you most certainly can manage the renovation or knockdown & rebuild yourself, but it's no easy feat to set up.

In Victoria, you'll need to apply for a owner-builder certificate of consent that involves an Occupational Health & Safety test through the Victorian Building Authority.

However, there are so many variables you cannot control in a renovation or knockdown & rebuild project.

Material prices fluctuate...Labor costs vary...Contractors are unreliable...
